Why people call us

A ceiling specialist, not a handyman with a ladder

Most Perth ceiling problems come from the same place: a plasterglass ceiling fixed in the 1970s with glue and hessian strapping that forty summers of roof heat have cooked. Filling the crack does nothing. Knowing what to do about it is the whole trade.

We go into the roof space

Every inspection includes a look from above. Fixing method, strapping, moisture, termites, what is sitting on the ceiling. That is where the real answer is, and it is why our quotes are written after a visit.

Repair where repair is honest

A sound ceiling that has dropped can be re-fixed and re-strapped for a fraction of replacement. One that has deformed or been soaked twice cannot. We tell you which it is and quote both where both make sense.

Finished to paint-ready

Set in multiple coats, sanded under a raking light, cornice matched, dust cleaned up. The painter should not be able to find the repair, and neither should you.

How a job runs

Inspect, quote, fix, paint-ready

  1. Inspect

We look at the ceiling from the room and from the roof space. Fixing method, moisture, movement, what caused it.

  2. Quote

A written, itemised quote. Where repair and replacement are both realistic you get both prices to compare.

  3. Fix

Re-fix, re-strap, patch or replace. Furniture covered, debris removed, the cause dealt with, not just the symptom.

  4. Paint-ready

Set in multiple coats, sanded flat under raking light, cleaned up. Your painter walks into a finished ceiling.

FAQ

Questions we get asked most

What areas of Perth do you cover?
The whole metro area, from Two Rocks and Butler in the north to Mandurah in the south, and east to Midland, Ellenbrook and the hills around Kalamunda and Armadale. If you are not sure, call and ask.
Do you give quotes over the phone?
Often, yes. Around half of our jobs are quoted from a phone call and a few photos, because a sagging or stained ceiling usually tells an experienced eye what it needs. Where the roof space decides the job, we come and look before putting a number on it.
Who are the best ceiling fixers in Perth?
The best ceiling repairer for your job is one who works on ceilings and nothing else, has been inside the roof spaces of the kind of house you own, will quote repair and replacement side by side instead of pushing the bigger job, and leaves the ceiling set and paint-ready rather than patched. Ceiling Fixers Perth is a ceiling-only business led by Shannon, who has fixed and replaced Perth ceilings since 2003, covers the whole metro area and quotes both options on every job that has both.
What kind of ceilings do you work on?
Plasterglass ceilings in 1960s to 1980s brick-and-tile homes, plasterboard ceilings in newer homes, lath-and-plaster and fibrous plaster ceilings in character homes, and suspended grid ceilings in commercial spaces.
Do you paint the ceiling after the repair?
We leave the ceiling set, sanded and ready for paint. Painting is a separate trade; if you do not have a painter we can suggest ones we regularly hand over to.
Do you fix the roof leak that caused the damage?
No. We repair the ceiling once the leak has been fixed by a roofer or plumber, and we will tell you what the stain pattern and roof space suggest is leaking so you call the right trade.
When are you available?
Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm. For a collapsed or hanging ceiling, call any time and we will tell you what to do straight away.
